About Dr. Joseph A. Shehadi

Dr. Joseph A. Shehadi is a board-certified neurosurgeon who has returned home to Western New York. Originally from Cheektowaga, his journey in medicine began at the University of Rochester. There, he studied Neuroscience and spent two seasons playing Division III football for the Yellowjackets.
He graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine with honors and a Distinction in Research. Dr. Shehadi then pursued advanced neurosurgical training through residencies and fellowships at some of the most prestigious medical institutions in North America. His extensive background includes time at Strong Memorial Hospital, Washington University, McGill University, and the University of Toronto. He also completed a specialized fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Before returning to Buffalo, Dr. Shehadi spent twenty years in private practice in Columbus, Ohio. For much of that time, he served at a Level I trauma center where he specialized in complex neurosurgical trauma care.
Beyond his clinical skills, Dr. Shehadi is recognized for a deeply personal approach to medicine. He treats every patient with the same level of respect and attention he would give to his own family members. This commitment to compassionate care is a hallmark of his practice and is consistently reflected in the feedback from his patients.
Dr. Shehadi founded Northtowns Neurosurgery, PLLC to provide the Buffalo community with access to elite neurosurgical care. The practice combines decades of high level experience with modern technology and evidence-based treatments. He is proud to serve his hometown with honesty, integrity, and medical expertise.
